Why do people blend essential oils?

This is the first question you might be interested in. If you have already got a favorite essential oil fragrance, such as lavender, lemon, or peppermint that you just love adding to your diffusers, then the idea of blending it with other essential oils might be a waste of time. However, there are proprietary blends that contain many kinds of single oils and have been regarded as good scents for our customers at Aromaeasy. By virtue of these sparks, you can truly give us your trust.

Frequently Asked Questions

There really is no limit to how many oils you can mix together. Some of the best blends contain five, six, or more unique oils. However, eventually, if you add too many oils, the different notes can mix and mingle too much and lead to an undesirable outcome.

Undiluted, In Most Circumstances. Because essential oils are so highly concentrated, using them straight-up can cause rashes and even burns. And mixing them with water isn't going to do the trick because, well, oil and water don't mix.

Mixing too many different types of oils can damage your health and increase the risk of burning out. Too much lemon or lavender oil in your hair, for example, can lead to dry skin (in fact, it can even cause acne).

Most essential oil dilution rates should be 3% or less for topical use (for example, 3 drops of essential oil to 97 drops of carrier oil). This dilution rate would be considered safe and effective for most aromatherapy applications.

In aromatherapy, mixtures of between two to five oils are most commonly used for blending, as that seems to be the 'sweet spot' of achieving the most synergy between the oils.

As outlined above, “how many drops are in a 10 ml bottle?” can vary quite a bit. But with the same math, we can get an approximation of how many drops to expect in a 10 ml bottle. Assuming the same range as listed above, a 10 ml dropper bottle should have between 150 and 300 drops with an average of 225.

Top notes, like peppermint, lavender, and eucalyptus typically evaporate within an hour or two. Middle notes, like rosemary, geranium, and chamomile, often aromatically evaporate within two to four hours.
